Protest Over Death of 17-Year-Old in Boeotia on National Road; Strong Police and Fire Forces on Site

Protests Shut Down National Road Athens – Corinth and Cause Traffic Delays.

The National Road Athens – Corinth, as well as the side roads, are closed in both directions from kilometer 39 to kilometer 42, near the Megara industrial area.

Shortly after 8:30 pm on Tuesday evening, Roma people took to the streets, protesting against the death of Kostas Michalopoulos in Boeotia.

Police and fire forces are present at the scene.

There had been a protest in Thessaloniki as well, where dozens of residents of the Agia Sofia settlement in Diavata burned bins and tires, as part of their protest against the death of the 17-year-old.

Drivers are trapped on the old National Road Athens – Corinth, as reported by ANT1 reporter, Georgia Lagou.
