The Saint Katherine Foundation is thrilled to announce its first-ever event, Art@Dark, a celebration that combines faith, creativity, and community into an unforgettable experience.

Taking place on Saturday, December 2 at the Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church and Community Center in Redondo Beach, this annual gathering promises to delight all the senses.

The evening will commence with a moving vespers service led by Fr. Michael Courey, setting the spiritual tone for the night. Following the service, the spotlight will shine on an incredible group of women artists: Angelica Sotiriou, Roz Halikis, Barbara Menzelos, Georgia Linde, Barbara Spyrou, and the late Argyro Yiakas. Their stunning works of art will captivate attendees, creating an immersive visual experience. To complement this artistic journey, mouth-watering hors d'oeuvres crafted by Fr. Peter Dogias will be served, accompanied by the melodic tones of a live string quartet.

This event marks the beginning of an annual series that focuses on the intersection of faith and the arts. For our inaugural exhibition, we have chosen to showcase women painters from our community. This decision not only pays homage to the significant role women played in Jesus' ministry but also honors the long-standing history of women in leadership within our beloved St. Katherine Church," explains Fr. Courey, who himself is a prolific artist.

By attending Art@Dark, you not only immerse yourself in a night of beauty and inspiration but also contribute to a worthy cause. All proceeds from the event will go towards the Saint Katherine Foundation, providing scholarships and financial support to the various ministries supported by Saint Katherine Church.

Don't miss this incredible opportunity to experience the talents and contributions of these extraordinary women artists while supporting a cause that makes a difference. Join us at Art@Dark and become a part of this unique tapestry celebrating art, faith, and community.

Art@Dark is a visionary concept born from the creative mind of Fr. Michael Courey. This initiative seamlessly blends art and spirituality, inviting individuals to explore the profound interplay between creativity and meaning. As a multifaceted artist, his goal is to bring the community together through an annual evening event that transcends traditional boundaries and fosters a sense of unity. This innovative venture, where art and faith intersect, encourages a deeper connection to the human experience, inviting us to reflect on the beauty that can be found within our shared journey.

Art@Dark will be held on Saturday, December 2, 6 PM at Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 722 Knob Hill in Redondo Beach.

Tickets: $35 per person includes hosted bar and Hors d’oeuvres by Fr. Peter Dogias.
