How much more do Greeks work than Europeans, according to a French survey?

Greek workers, salaried and self-employed, work on average much longer than workers in other EU member states.

According to a survey by the French institute Rexecode, the average Greek worker works almost 2,000 hours a year compared to 1,679 hours, the European average.

Romanians and Bulgarians in Europe work more hours than Greeks, while the Dutch, Danes, Finns, Swedes, Austrians and Germans work less than 1,600 hours a year.

Greek employees work over 1,900 hours yearly, while the European average is 1,792 hours. The Greek self-employed work almost 2,400 hours a year, with the corresponding European average at most 2,200 working hours.
