In the eastern country, there will be rain and storms which will be strong in some areas. Dense snowfall will occur in the mountainous and semi-mountainous regions of Central and Northern Greece, while there will be snowfall even in low-lying areas in eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
The winds will blow northeast 6 to 8, and in the central and northern Aegean they will locally reach 9 on the Beaufort scale.
GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
Increased cloudiness with localized rain and storms in most areas. In the eastern country, especially in the Sporades, Thessaly, Evia, northeastern Aegean and possibly Halkidiki, the phenomena will be strong in some areas until the afternoon. Afternoon, the intense phenomena will be limited to the eastern Aegean and the southern coastal areas, gradually weakening.
Snowfall will occur in the mountainous and semi-mountainous regions of Central and Northern Greece, while in eastern Macedonia and Thrace there will be snowfall even in low-lying areas. Snowfall is expected to decrease in the evening hours.
The winds will blow from the northeast, in the west 6 to 7 and in the east and south 7 to 8, and in the central and northern Aegean locally up to 9 on the Beaufort scale.
The temperature will further decrease, especially in the central and northern regions. Specifically, in the north it will range from 0 to 8, in the rest of the mainland from 5 to 15, and in the island country from 11 to 22 degrees Celsius.
MACEDONIA, THRACE
Weather: Cloudiness with rain and storms, locally strong mainly in the coastal areas. Dense snowfall will occur in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas, while in eastern Macedonia and Thrace there will be snowfall even in low-lying areas (approximately from 200m). A decrease in the phenomena is expected in the evening.
Winds: From the north at 6 to 8 on the Beaufort scale, and mainly in the coastal areas locally at 9 on the Beaufort scale.
Temperature: From 0 to 8 degrees Celsius. In western Macedonia it will be 3 to 4 degrees lower.
IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIRUS, WESTERN STEREA, WESTERN PELOPONNESE
Weather: Cloudiness with rain and storms, which in the early hours in the mainland will be strong in some areas. Snowfall will occur in the mountainous regions. A decrease in the phenomena is expected in the afternoon.
Winds: From the north at 4 to 6, and locally up to 7 on the Beaufort scale in the Ionian, gradually shifting to the east with the same intensity.
Temperature: From 7 to 15 degrees Celsius. In the interior of Epirus it will be 5 to 6 degrees lower.
EASTERN STEREA, EVIA, EASTERN PELOPONNESE
Weather: Cloudiness with rain and sporadic storms, strong in some areas, mainly in Evia. Snowfall will occur in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas. A decrease in the phenomena is expected in the afternoon.
Winds: Northerly 5 to 7, and in the coastal areas locally 8 to 9 on the Beaufort scale.
Temperature: From 5 to 15 degrees Celsius.
CYCLADES, CRETE
Weather: Few clouds that will quickly thicken and there will be local rain and sporadic storms.
Winds: From the south at 4 to 6, gradually shifting to the north at 6 to 8, and locally up to 9 on the Beaufort scale in the Cyclades.
Temperature: From 11 to 21 degrees Celsius.
EASTERN AEGEAN ISLANDS - DODECANESE
Weather: Rain and storms on the islands of the eastern Aegean, locally strong, and snowfall in the northern mountains. Rain and sporadic storms will occur in the Dodecanese mainly from midday.
Winds: From the south at 4 to 6, and in the northern parts northeast 7 to 9 on the Beaufort scale. In the evening, north winds of 4 to 6 on the Beaufort scale will prevail in the south.
Temperature: From 14 to 22 degrees Celsius in the Dodecanese. In the north, from 05 to 12 degrees Celsius.
THESSALY
Weather: Rain and storms, strong in some areas. Snowfall will occur in the mountainous regions.
Winds: Northerly 5 to 7 on the Beaufort scale.
Temperature: From 04 to 10 degrees Celsius.
ATTICA
Weather: Cloudiness with rain and sporadic storms, which will be intense temporarily during the early morning hours. Snowfall in Parnitha and Penteli.
Winds: Northerly 6 to 7, and in the eastern parts locally 8 to 9 on the Beaufort scale.
Temperature: From 05 to 13 degrees Celsius.
THESSALONIKI
Weather: Cloudiness with rain. Snowfall will occur in the surrounding mountainous areas. Improvement is expected from late evening.
Winds: Northwestern northerly 5 to 6 on the Beaufort scale.
Temperature: From 03 to 06 degrees Celsius.
FORECAST FOR SUNDAY, 17-12-2023
Increased cloudiness with localized rain and a chance of isolated storms in the eastern and southern part of the country during the morning hours. Light snowfall may occur in the mountains. Gradual improvement from noon.
In the remaining areas, there will be few clouds, temporarily increased in the southern Ionian where there will be local rain and possible isolated storms with gradual improvement.
The winds will blow from the northeast in the west 3 to 5 and in the east 5 to 7 on the Beaufort scale, gradually weakening from the evening hours.
The temperature will further decrease, especially in the eastern and southern regions. Specifically, in the north and central mainland it will range from (minus) -05 to 07 to 09, in the rest of the mainland from (minus) -03 to 12 to 14, in the northern Aegean from 02 to 09, and in the remaining island country from 09 to 16 to 17 degrees Celsius. There will be frost in the central and northern mainland, which in the northwest will be locally strong.
FORECAST FOR MONDAY, 18-12-2023
In the eastern and southern regions, there will be few clouds, temporarily increased with the possibility of weak local rains in Crete. Weak snowfall is possible in the mountains of Crete. Generally fair weather in the remaining areas.
The winds will blow from the north in the west variable weak and in the east from the north 5 to 7 on the Beaufort scale, with gradual weakening from the evening.
Although the temperature will increase slightly, frost will form in the northern mainland early in the morning.

Generally fair weather in most areas with few local clouds in the south. Visibility will be locally limited during the morning and evening hours in the west.
The winds will blow from the north in the west variable weak and in the east from the north 4 to 6 on the Beaufort scale, with gradual weakening in the evening.
The temperature will show a slight further increase.
FORECAST FOR WEDNESDAY, 20-12-2023
Generally fair weather with few local clouds in the south. From the afternoon, there will be an increase in clouds in the west and gradually in the south with local rain and mainly in the coastal areas isolated storms. Visibility will be locally limited mainly in the morning hours.
The winds will blow initially variable weak and gradually south-southeast 4 to 5 on the Beaufort scale.
The temperature will not show significant changes.
