Giorgos Mihalakopoulos passed away at the age of 85. The great Greek actor and director who had played in films such as “Wake Up Basil”, “The Beauty of the Barber”, “A Knight for Vassula” and “The Look of Odysseus” breathed his last.
Spyros Bibilas announced the news of his death through his personal Instagram account.
In his post, the SEH president says: “A while ago, we were informed of the sad news—the tragic loss of Greek culture, our theatre and the family of artists. We learned of the departure from the life of the great actor, human being, campaigner, trade unionist, and family man, Giorgos Mihalakopoulos. The mark he leaves will not be forgotten, and we are grateful to him for the legacy he leaves us. Heartfelt condolences to his beloved great Athena and his children.”
He was born in Athens on February 28, 1938, and studied acting at the Drama School of the Art Theatre.
In the theatre, he has appeared in shows such as Crime and Punishment, Death of a Salesman, Every Thursday Mr Green and The Price.
