Olympiacos Faces Sanctions and Racial Slur Controversy in Loss to Valencia

Published by

In addition to their loss against Valencia, Olympiacos is facing potential sanctions as a result of a fan’s inappropriate behavior during the game.

A fan sitting courtside directed a racial slur towards referee Joseph Bisang, leading to a disciplinary procedure likely being initiated against the club. Bisang noted the incident by requesting that the fan’s comment be documented on the score sheet, specifically mentioning being called a “monkey”.

Although the club is actively working to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future, these measures do not alter the consequences in this particular case.

Valencia Basket managed to win against Olympiacos BC Piraeus with a score of 56-63:

Thomas Walkup 13 points and 3 rebounds
Chris Jones 12 points 4 assists Stefan Jovic 12 points and 4 ast Kostas Papanikolaou 11 points and 4 rebounds
