The children of the new millennium, the Millenials, want tasty and healthy food, and this sweet potato gyros is just that!
Materials for four servings:
For the potatoes
1 kilo of sweet potatoes
1 litre of sunflower oil
For the gyros
1.5 kg pork neck, uncut
2 tsp. sweet garlic powder
2 tsp. onion powder
30 gr. granulated sugar
3 tsp. sweet paprika powder
Two tsp. of dry oregano
1 tsp. of coriander powder
1 tsp. celery powder
salt, black pepper
e.p. olive oil
For the sour cream
500 gr. strained yogurt
Two limes, the juice
salt, black pepper
Procedure
Step 1
Gyros: Cut the pork neck into very thin slices about 3-5 mm thick. Marinate it with all the ingredients for about 12 hours. Then we put the meat on metal skewers and pass the pieces as if forming the letter S. Grill on the coals on high heat, turning them constantly.
Step 2
Sour cream: Put the ingredients for the cream in a bowl and mix them.
Step 3
Cut sweet potatoes into thin sticks and fry them in sunflower oil. Once the meat is caramelised and cooked, take it out and cut it into rounds.
Step 4
Serve immediately with sweet potatoes and sour cream.
