Special checks were carried out at noon on Tuesday in the centre of Athens by the Directorate for Combating Organised Crime and Human Trafficking of Attica Police.
According to the police: "In particular, checks were carried out at two brothels to identify victims of human trafficking and check the legality of their operation, during which a total of five women were arrested."
"A case was filed against them for violation of seals set by the Authority and violation of the law on extradited persons. The case file has been submitted to the competent Prosecutor," the statement added.
