Central Jewish Council welcomes issuance of Holocaust Museum of Greece construction permit

The Central Jewish Council of Greece President David Saltiel welcomed the issuance of a permit that greenlights the construction of the Holocaust Museum of Greece.

Issued on Tuesday by the Environment & Energy Ministry and the urban planning services of the municipality of Thessaloniki, the permit (No. 899557/2023) "paves the way for the construction of the museum, which is expected to be completed in 2.5 years", noted Saltiel.

In the same vein, the Israelite Community of Thessaloniki "always recognises the practical support of the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis as well as Panagiotis Pikramenos," it was noted in an announcement, while "the funding of the Greek Government, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) as well as Dr. Albert Burla through the Genesis Prize Foundation is instrumental in the completion of the project", it was added.

David Saltiel is also the President of the Israelite Community of Thessaloniki and the Holocaust Museum of Greece.
