Panettone or kormos: What do Greeks prefer for Christmas?

Christmas is just days away, and we are slowly preparing for the festive table. That's why Viber asked what Greeks prefer for something sweet during this period: panettone or kormos?

The answers from the beginning showed your clear preference for the kormos, which prevailed with 74%, leaving the panettone behind.

The classic mosaiko, or chocolate log, is undoubtedly one of the most beloved sweets for Greek chocolate lovers.

Accompanied by ice cream and extra chocolate syrup, or just plain, it is the ideal dessert for all seasons of the year.

Here is the AMAZING recipe by Stelios Parliaros.

For eight servings:

• 450 gr. petit beurre biscuits
• 250 ml of milk
• 180 gr. granulated sugar
• 125 gr. chopped butter
• 60 gr. cocoa powder
• 30 ml. cognac

Procedure

1. In a bowl, lightly press the biscuits with our hands until they break. Put the milk, sugar, butter in a saucepan and place it on medium heat. Stir frequently and continuously until the butter and sugar melt, being careful not to boil. Add the cocoa and cognac.
2. Pour the mixture over the biscuits and mix the ingredients well.
3. Pour the mixture on a rectangular baking cake tin lined with some cling film. Shape the mixture into a long strip, then take the cling film out and roll the edges together to form into a sausage.
4. Leave the mixture in the refrigerator overnight to firm up well. Unmould and serve the dessert cut into slices.
