Search Continues for 3 After Rhodes Shipwreck

At dawn, a shipwreck involving 21 individuals occurred off Rhodes, within Turkish territorial waters. The Turkish Coast Guard successfully rescued 18 people, while collaborative efforts with the Greek Coast Guard are underway to locate the missing individuals.

As per statements from the rescue, three people remain unaccounted for. The Ministry of Shipping’s Operations Chamber was notified by the Turkish Coast Guard at 8 a.m., detailing the ongoing rescue operation on their side. The Hellenic Coast Guard initiated a parallel search and rescue operation.

Currently, the search has not yielded results in finding the missing individuals. The operation involves two Coast Guard patrol boats, an Air Force Super Puma helicopter, and a nearby vessel. The search area is situated northeast of Rhodes.
