Warm Welcome to Archbishop Makarios at Greek Consulate's Vasilopita Ceremony

The Greek Consulate in Sydney proudly welcomed His Beatitude Archbishop Makarios of Australia for the traditional cutting of the Vasilopita on Thursday, January 12, 2024.

Consul General Ioannis Mallikourtis and the entire Consulate staff warmly received His Beatitude, who offered heartfelt wishes for a happy and productive 2024 to all present.

Archbishop Makarios, currently on a visit to Australia, led the cutting of the Vasilopita and offered blessings for the new year, including good health, happiness, and prosperity for those gathered.

Following the ceremony, a lunch and discussion occurred between His Beatitude and the Consul General.

The event was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere and allowed Greeks in Australia to come together and celebrate the beginning of the new year.
