Two soldiers from Greece who serve in ELDYK (Hellenic Force of Cyprus), reported yesterday to the Cypriot police that they were attacked by migrants while they were returning to their unit in the area of Nicosia.
The soldiers, for precautionary reasons, went to the Nicosia Hospital for tests and the police are conducting investigations to identify the migrants who allegedly hit the soldiers. At the same time, the two young men in their statements described the incident they reported.
The ELDYK Administration in Nicosia and military authorities in Athens were immediately informed about the case, while the matter is being monitored by the General Staff of the National Guard (GEEF) and the Ministry of Defence of Cyprus.
