METEO presented the latest satellite data on the snow cover in our country until Monday (22/1) today.
The data, therefore, show that approximately 21% of the land area of Greece is covered with snow, which means that the percentage of snow cover exceeded the average of 2004-2023 for the third ten days of January. This is the fourth most extensive snow cover for this time of year since 2005.

The weather on Thursday, January 25
Generally clear weather with sparse clouds in places denser in the morning hours. The winds will blow west northwest 3 to 5, in the seas 5 to 6 and in the Sporades locally up to 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will rise and reach 16 degrees in the north, 17 to 18 degrees in the rest of the country and 19 degrees Celsius locally in the Dodecanese. Frost will be noticed in the morning hours in northern continental areas.
The weather on Friday, January 26
Generally, clear weather with a few clouds temporarily increased on the islands of the eastern Aegean, the Dodecanese, and Crete, where there will be a few light local rains. The winds will blow north-northwest 4 to 6, on the seas locally seven and temporarily in the morning in the Sporades area up to 8 Beaufort.
The temperature will not change appreciably, and only in the northern continental regions will it drop a little, and locally, in the early morning and evening hours, there will be frost.
It will range from -04 (minus 4) to 13 degrees in the north, from -01 (minus 1) to 17 degrees in the rest of the mainland, and from 08 to 18 degrees Celsius in the island country.
The weather on Saturday, January 27
Generally clear weather with a few clouds temporarily increasing in the east, with light local rains from noon in Thrace and from the afternoon in the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean, the Cyclades and the Dodecanese.
Weak snowfalls will occur in the mountains of the north, mainly east of Macedonia and Thrace. The winds will blow northnorthwest from 3 to 5, gradually from 4 to 6, and in the seas, 7 Beaufort.
In the evening, in the northwestern Aegean and Thermakos, their intensity will reach 8 Beaufort. The temperature will drop slightly. Frost will be noted in the northern continental areas in the morning and evening hours.
The weather on Sunday, January 28
In the eastern country, clouds temporarily increased with local rains. Weak snowfalls will occur east of the mainland, in the Evia and Crete mountains, and the rest of the country will have almost clear weather. Winds will blow from north directions 5 to 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop mainly in the east, and there will be frost in the morning and evening hours in the northern continental areas.
The weather on Monday, January 29
The Aegean and Crete increased clouds in the eastern mainland with local rains. Temporary snowfalls will occur in the mountains of the eastern mainland, Evia and Crete. The phenomena in the evening in the north will stop—almost clear weather in the rest of the country.
The winds will blow north northeast, in the west 3 to 5, and in the east 6 to 7 Beaufort, with a tendency to strengthen from noon. The temperature will remain at approximately the same levels, and frost will occur in the central and northern continental areas in the morning and evening.
