Larissa Church Vandalized in Response to Holy Synod Stance on Same-Sex Couples Bill

On Saturday night, unknown individuals wrote slogans on the floor and walls of the porticoes outside the Church of Agios Achillios, the patron saint of Larissa. This act appeared to be in response to the Sunday reading of the Holy Synod's encyclical opposing the marriage and procreation of same-sex couples.

According to, the slogans included:

  • "Greece should die and we live in hell. Family, religion, and country."
  • "No to violence, yes to lesbianism."
  • "We are all gay."

Slogans were also directed personally against Metropolitan Larsis Hieronymos, known for his opposition to the same-sex couples bill.
