Greek Hotels Impress in Forbes Travel Guide

Twelve Greek havens across Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini have been recognized in the prestigious 2024 Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards. As the oldest travel guide in the US, their star rating system is a coveted mark of excellence in hospitality. This year, anonymous inspectors rigorously evaluated over 2,000 properties worldwide, assessing them against 900 exacting standards with an emphasis on exceptional service.

Four Greek gems claimed the coveted 5-star rating:

  • Andronis Luxury Suites on Santorini charmed inspectors with its unique dining, cave-like decor, and yacht tours.
  • Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens impressed with its exceptional staff, stunning location, and unique bathing ceremonies inspired by ancient Greece.
  • Katikies Mykonos and Katikies Santorini earned praise for their all-white accommodations, breathtaking views, and romantic atmosphere with artfully composed plates.

  • Santorini Secret Suites & Spa stood out for its open-air restaurant and idyllic blend of indoor and outdoor spaces.

Six hotels earned the "Recommended" badge:

  • Athens: Hotel Grande Bretagne (a landmark with gold-accented decor and stunning views), King George (offering tasting masterclasses and cultural tours).
  • Mykonos: Kouros Hotel & Suites (known for its spacious suites), Myconian Korali Relais & Chateaux Hotel, Myconian O, Design Hotels, and Myconian Villa Collection (all praised for their Cycladic architecture, natural aesthetic, and mesmerizing vistas).

Beyond Greece, the 2024 awards expanded to new destinations: Baku, Azerbaijan; Curacao; Iceland; Sardinia, Italy; and more. Notably, Rwanda debuted with two Five-Star winners and Kenya entered the list with its unique animal-centric experiences. Macau continues to reign supreme as the city with the most Five-Star hotels for the second year in a row.

This prestigious recognition for Greek hotels highlights the exceptional hospitality experiences they offer and solidifies their position as world-class destinations.
