Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo surprised many when he revealed during the All-Star Game weekend that he doesn't watch much basketball on TV.
He mentioned that he generally avoids watching the sport, including stats, highlights, and how other players perform. He further expressed his enjoyment of going into games without prior knowledge of his opponents and their playing styles.
However, it's likely that Antetokounmpo was exaggerating to some extent. Considering his achievements and the demands of being an NBA player, it's hard to believe that he doesn't watch any basketball film or engage in scouting activities.
The 29-year-old has an impressive list of accomplishments, including NBA champion, two-time MVP, eight-time All-Star, and seven-time All-NBA selection. He has also been recognized as Defensive Player of the Year and has been selected five times for the All-Defensive team. It's reasonable to assume that Antetokounmpo may have been employing a bit of hyperbole in his statement.
