The first marriage of a same-sex couple took place in Nea Smyrni after the relevant law was passed in our country. Dimitris Elefsiniotis and Stavros Gavriliadis got married yesterday at noon at the town hall of Nea Smyrni. The wedding took place in a close family circle, with the lawyer of Athens, Nikolaos Trovas, and Konstantinos Galanis, an orthopedic doctor, serving as witnesses.
Speaking exclusively to ANTIVIRUS, Stavros Gavriliadis revealed that after the ceremony, the Prime Minister contacted them to congratulate them and convey his wishes. In their conversation with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Stavros expressed his pleasure for the phone call and for "passing a law that has a positive impact on both our lives and the lives of our children" as he characteristically told us.
Finally, when asked how he feels after his marriage, Stavros answered, "Nothing changes in our daily lives since we have been a family for several years now. What is changing, however, is that now the state also recognizes us as one family and not as two separate ones, as was the case until now."
