The Greek Parliament's Foreign Affairs and National Defence Committee has given its approval to two Greek-US memorandums of cooperation.

These memorandums focus on the deployment and placement of Greek defence personnel within the US Army. Deputy Defence Minister Giannis Kefalogiannis emphasized that Greece will not be sending troops to Ukraine.

He categorically stated that there are no provisions in these agreements that would allow for backdoor troop deployment under any circumstances. Kefalogiannis highlighted that the memorandums serve to create an additional channel of communication and cooperation between the armed forces of both countries, contributing to the consolidation of the strategic defence partnership between Greece and the US.
