Oscar Winner Emma Stone Teams Up with Yorgos Lanthimos for Another Film

Academy Award winner Emma Stone is teaming up again with acclaimed director Yorgos Lanthimos for a new film titled "Kinds of Kindness." This will be their third collaboration following the success of "The Favourite" (2018) and "Poor Things" (2023), for which Stone just won her second Best Actress Oscar.

"Kinds of Kindness" is shrouded in secrecy, with plot details kept under wraps. Scheduled for a June 21st release, the film will be an anthology piece directed by Lanthimos and feature an ensemble cast including Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer.

Lanthimos revealed the film's concept to Deadline, describing it as "three contemporary stories" with a core cast of seven actors each playing a different character in each story.

"Poor Things" was a critical and commercial darling, grossing over $108 million worldwide and winning four Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Stone. Their previous collaboration, "The Favourite," also garnered critical acclaim and earned Olivia Colman a Best Actress Oscar.

In her acceptance speech, Stone acknowledged her initial anxiety about the award possibility. She credited Lanthimos for his guidance and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to portray Bella Baxter in "Poor Things."

Lanthimos has spoken highly of working with Stone, praising her unique presence and enthusiastic involvement in all aspects of filmmaking, which even led to her becoming a producer on "Poor Things."

This win marks Stone's second Best Actress Oscar, seven years after her first for "La La Land." Lanthimos, a renowned filmmaker from Athens, Greece, has garnered numerous accolades throughout his career, including a BAFTA, a Golden Globe, and six Academy Award nominations.
