Man Killed in Firecracker Accident in Crete


A tragic accident during Carnival celebrations on Sunday (March 17th) claimed the life of a 33-year-old man in Agios Nikolaos, Crete. The man reportedly died from extensive bleeding after a firecracker exploded on him.

Local reports indicate the man was attempting to throw the firecracker when it detonated prematurely, causing injuries near his ribs. The incident occurred around 9:30 pm.

Emergency responders rushed the man to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite medical intervention, the man succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

According to, the victim suffered significant blood loss. Authorities are investigating the exact sequence of events that led to the fatal accident.
