Under the auspices of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese the concert will feature are number of religious and secular works which will be performed by over 50 singers headed by Mr Jim Tsolakis, and a 30-piece orchestra led by Musical Director Leon Vitogiannis.
Entitled “In Honour and Memory – 100 years of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia" the concert will take place at the Sydney Town Hall on Friday, March 22nd, at 6:30 pm.
In March 1924, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in Australia was established by Patriarch Gregory VII of Constantinople and the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Now, after a century of existence, contribution, struggle, and witness in the Fifth Continent, the Hellenic Choir will celebrate this significant milestone.
