In an interview with the television network Euronews, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis highlighted three significant challenges facing Europe in the near future and the necessary solutions.

Firstly, Mitsotakis emphasized the imperative of transforming strategic autonomy into a tangible and effective policy rather than merely a slogan. He underscored the importance of increased coordination in defence spending to bolster Europe's defence capabilities.

Secondly, the Prime Minister addressed the issue of Europe's competitiveness in the global arena. He stressed the need for Europe to maintain competitiveness vis-à-vis economic powers such as China, the United States, and the Global South, which would translate into improved job opportunities and higher wages for European citizens.

Thirdly, Mitsotakis focused on the agricultural sector, highlighting the challenge of ensuring food security amidst the ongoing green transition. He emphasized the necessity of implementing green policies at a pace that would not unduly burden farmers and impact their livelihoods.

Mitsotakis emphasized the significance of the European elections within the broader economic and geopolitical context. Against the backdrop of ongoing conflicts and humanitarian crises, he urged voters to participate, emphasizing the importance of electing qualified representatives to the European Parliament who can effectively address the challenges facing Greece and Europe as a whole.
