Greek Authorities Collaborate with Interpol to Make Arrests

A member of an international smuggling gang wanted by Interpol for trafficking Latin American fuel products has been apprehended by Greek authorities.

The gang, which operated globally, is believed to have made profits exceeding $21 billion from their illicit activities. The arrested individual, an Italian national, was discovered in a suburb of Athens and was the subject of an Interpol arrest warrant.

The gang's tactics involved stealing fuel from Latin American ports and disabling tracking devices on their oil tankers to deceive shipping brokers. The identity of the suspect has not been disclosed by the police.
