Stefanos Kasselakis, President of SYRIZA, showcased his lavish new residence in the heart of Athens, valued at 1.8 million euros, during a feature on Nikos Evagelatos' show on Mega.
Explaining his choice of location, Kasselakis emphasised the importance of living centrally due to Athens' traffic challenges, as his work is primarily centred near the Parliament.
Despite considering other neighborhoods like Metz or Pagrati, Kasselakis and his partner Tyler opted for the central location, noting the scarcity of renovated apartments in those areas.
The renovation process is underway, with plans to complete it by July and host their wedding by the end of August. Kasselakis humorously expressed his dismay at the show revealing their furniture choices prematurely, prompting them to reconsider their options.
The apartment's design includes a spacious dining area for ten, a bar, and a living room adorned with beige and white hues, featuring a semi-circular sofa, two large armchairs, and a fireplace. Kasselakis admitted to having a keen eye for design and praised Tyler's expertise in interior decorating.
When questioned about their decision to purchase rather than rent, Kasselakis emphasised their commitment to Greece and their desire to establish long-term roots. He also touched upon his reasons for returning to Greece, citing a dedication to public service and the pursuit of meritocracy.
Reflecting on his personal journey, Kasselakis acknowledged the privileges he enjoys while highlighting the challenges faced by many Greeks, emphasising the importance of empathy and inclusivity in political leadership.
