Delicious koulourakia with the unique flavour of mastic.
Materials for 20-25 koulourakia:
500 gr. (4 teacups) All Purpose Flour
250 gr. (1 1/4 tsp.) butter at room temperature
Two eggs
160 gr. (1 cup. of tea) powdered sugar
10 gr. (2 teaspoons) Baking Powder
60ml (1/3 cup of tea) milk
Two teaspoons of vanilla paste
zest of 2 oranges
juice of 1 orange
2 gr. mastic
1 tsp. granulated sugar
One egg for glazing
Procedure
Step 1
Beat the butter and powdered sugar in the mixer at high speed until fluffy; add the eggs and continue beating for another five minutes.
Step 2
Crush the mastic with the sugar in the blender and add it to the mixture with the milk, orange juice, zest, vanilla paste, and baking powder.
Step 3
Beat for another minute, and at the end, add the All-Purpose Flour, mixing lightly. Shape the koulourakia, brush them with the beaten egg and bake at 170°C in the air for about 25 minutes.
