Cyprus Secures Spot in Eurovision Grand Final with Silia Kapsis "Liar"

The 1st semi-final of the 68th Eurovision contest, where Cyprus participated in Malmo, Sweden, has concluded.

17-year-old Silia Kapsis, brimming with confidence and dynamism, was the first contestant to take the stage at the Malmo Arena. Her goal? To secure a spot in the grand final next Saturday (11/5), and she achieved it!

The talented Greek-Australian singer performed "Liar," a song written by Dimitris Kontopoulos. Kontopoulos, a prolific Eurovision songwriter since 2007, has had numerous entries in the contest. Silia's performance convinced Europe, and she successfully qualified for the final.

15 countries competed on the stage of Eurovision 2024 which this year takes place in Malmö, Sweden. Cyprus with Silia Kapsis opened the competition and appeared first.
