Panathinaikos fans took to the streets across Greece as soon as the EuroLeague final ended with Real Madrid.

The centre of celebrations was Athens, with fans flooding Omonia and Alexandras Avenue and the Athens City Hall being coloured green.

Panathinaikos fans also celebrated in Berlin and defied coach Ergin Ataman and his players when they returned to the hotel ahead of their big return to Athens today at 13:30 local time.

In a thrilling EuroLeague final, the Greek club overcame Real Madrid by a commanding score of 95:80, etching their name into history as the 2023/24 champions of Europe.

The game marked the first time that the top two teams in the regular season standings faced off in the final under the new EuroLeague format. Panathinaikos, known for their impeccable record in previous finals, emerged victorious again.

This victory marked Panathinaikos' seventh EuroLeague championship in the club's storied history.

The Greek club join an elite group of teams that have achieved the perfect record of winning every final they've contested.
