Greece saw a significant surge in private construction activity in February, with a 75.6% increase in volume compared to the same month last year, according to the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT). A total of 2,722 building permits were issued, covering 613,059 square metres of surface area and 2,521,191 cubic metres of volume. This represents a 78.8% increase in the number of building permits, a 73.5% increase in surface area, and a 75.6% increase in volume compared to February 2023.
Additionally, for the first two months of the year, private construction activity in Greece showed a 44.4% increase in the number of building permits, a 42.7% increase in surface area, and a 38.6% increase in volume compared to the same period in 2023.
