The Israeli ambassador to Greece, Noam Katz, expressed criticism on Monday regarding SYRIZA leader Stefanos Kasselakis' recent visit to the West Bank.

Ambassador Katz stated that the visit was a "missed opportunity" for Kasselakis to contribute meaningfully to the situation. He emphasized that Kasselakis should have engaged with both parties if he had intended to have a positive impact.

"I anticipated that the SYRIZA leader, while in Ramallah, would not only express empathy for the Palestinians but also denounce Hamas's atrocities," Katz said. Despite this, he added that Kasselakis would be "welcome in Israel."

During his two-day trip to the West Bank, Kasselakis met with Palestinian Authority officials and the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III.
