"I'm old enough and cynical enough to accept it may not happen," the 59-year-old told Stellar Magazine. "But the romantic in me makes me believe it could."
Despite her reservations, Carides remains open to the possibility of new love, though she admits she hasn't ventured into the world of dating apps. "It feels like a job interview. I like good old real life… If there's somebody I'm meant to meet, he will materialize."
Carides and LaPaglia's split became public in 2015 when he filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences, finalizing it a year later. The former couple shares a daughter, 21-year-old Bridget LaPaglia.
Shortly after their separation, LaPaglia began dating Alexandra Henkel, a Melbourne woman 30 years his junior. The pair made their relationship public at the "Mad Max: Fury Road" premiere in Los Angeles and married in 2018 when Henkel was 33 and LaPaglia was 65.
LaPaglia, who lives in California, married Carides in 1998 after they starred together in the 1994 film "Lucky Break" (known as "Paperback Romance" in America). He is best known for his role as Jack Malone on the drama series "Without a Trace," which earned him a Golden Globe Award in 2004.
