Hazelnuts are delicious, crunchy, and slightly sweet. They help the heart function properly and enhance male fertility.
There are multiple benefits to including hazelnuts in your nutritional plan. They help different body functions and are rich in nutrients, with a high amount of proteins, beneficial fats, vitamins, and minerals.
Hazelnuts, in particular, contain vitamin E, Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids, iron, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc. These elements contribute to the proper functioning of the body and improve overall health.
They protect the function of the heart.
Like most nuts, hazelnuts help protect the heart. According to one study, eating a diet rich in hazelnuts can improve cardiovascular risk biomarkers, potentially reducing the risk of heart problems.
Correspondingly, the same study found that such an eating plan also reduced participants’ low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, a type of cholesterol that increases the chances of developing cardiovascular disease.
Frequent consumption of hazelnuts could also provide solutions to male infertility. Recent research has shown that eating more nuts, including hazelnuts, can increase sperm count and quality.
The researchers emphasise that this small study involved healthy, fertile participants. However, more research is needed to see if the benefits apply to the wider population.
