Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is expanding his portfolio beyond the basketball court. The two-time NBA MVP is set to produce his first scripted feature film through his production company, Improbable Media.
Teaming up with Studio Galazio and filmmaker Christopher Andre Marks, Antetokounmpo will bring an "Ocean's Eleven-style heist comedy set in Greece" to the big screen. Marks, who will write and direct the project, is launching a new production banner focused on sharing internationally-minded stories with Greek themes.
While details about the plot and the international cast are still under wraps, production is slated to begin later this year.
The film marks another milestone for Antetokounmpo, who continues to make waves both on and off the court. Before diving into the world of film production, he'll be busy competing in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Piraeus, Greece, hoping to secure a spot for his home country in the upcoming Paris Olympics.
This project sees an impressive roster of veteran producers joining forces, including Shani Hinton, Raphael Benoliel, Adam B. Stern, and Erika Aronson, adding further anticipation to the upcoming heist comedy.
