The Los Angeles Greek Film Festival 2024 kicked off with a festive red carpet event at the Harmony Gold Theatre on Saturday, June 1.
The opening night reception, hosted by European Languages & Movies in America (ELMA), was a testament to Greek hospitality. It featured culinary delights from NICK THE GREEK, exquisite wines by AVRA, and craft cocktails by DULCE VIDA TEQUILA and EMPRESS GIN. SMARTWATER and OPTIMA FOODS provided refreshing beverages to complement the festivities.
The event was graced by dignitaries, VIPs, and filmmakers, including actress-producer Maria Korinthiou, George and Tina Kolovos, and other prominent figures from the entertainment industry.
Over the course of nine days, the festival will showcase more than 80 films, including features, shorts, documentaries, animation, and retrospectives, offering a comprehensive overview of the Greek film industry's current landscape.
Among the upcoming highlights are the HOLLYWOOD SCENE & BE SEEN BASH on June 6, featuring entertainment by Greek American singer Angelina Alexon and DJ Peter Loukatos, and the GREEK TELEVISION PRODUCTION ROUNDTABLE on June 8, sponsored by ERTFLIX International.
The festival will culminate with the RED CARPET CLOSING NIGHT and ORPHEUS AWARDS & RECEPTION on June 9. The event will feature the film MURDERESS, directed by Eva Nathena and starring renowned Greek actress Karyofyllia Karabeti.
