Russian Consulate General in Thessaloniki

A 29-year-old Greek man was arrested in Thessaloniki for throwing white paint on the facade of the Consulate General of Russia.

The incident happened yesterday at noon, with the alleged perpetrator escaping on a motorcycle after the vandalization, Proto Thema reported.

Police officers spotted and arrested him a little later. A plastic bottle with white paint was found on the motorcycle.

In a subsequent search of his home, seven knives, two brass knuckles, two grenade safety levers, five cartridges and casings, as well as two marine torches and 26 flares, were seized.

Charges were filed against the 29-year-old arrested for damage to property and violations of weapons and pyrotechnic laws.
