Acropolis Closure Announced Due to Heatwave

Acropolis heatwave

The Ministry of Culture has announced that the Acropolis archaeological site will be closed on Wednesday from 12:00 to 17:00 due to extreme heat.

This precautionary measure aims to ensure the safety of visitors and staff during the peak hours of the heatwave affecting the region.

The Ministry advises those who have pre-purchased tickets for the affected hours that they will still be able to visit the iconic site later in the day. The Acropolis will reopen at 17:00 and remain accessible until 20:00, allowing visitors to enjoy the historic landmark in cooler conditions.

Authorities are closely monitoring the weather and will provide updates as necessary to ensure the well-being of all visitors. This decision follows similar measures taken in the past to protect both tourists and the ancient structures from the effects of extreme temperatures.
