Police are investigating a suspected femicide in Tremithousa, Paphos, that occurred on Friday morning.

Initial reports indicate that a husband may have stabbed his wife during a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival at an apartment complex, police found the woman, aged 41, lying dead on the ground.

Eyewitnesses told Phileleftheros that loud arguments and screams were heard emanating from the couple's apartment that morning. At one point, both the woman and the man emerged from separate exits of the ground floor apartment building, both covered in blood.

The witnesses stated that they attempted to administer first aid to the woman, who was lying on the ground bleeding but was still alive at the time.

The man, also covered in blood, remained at the scene until the arrival of the ambulance.

The woman was pronounced dead upon arrival at Paphos General Hospital.

The husband's condition is reported as non-life-threatening, and he is currently hospitalized under police guard.

The couple has two children who were not present at the time of the incident. The state is expected to assume custody of the children.

Police have cordoned off the area to secure the scene and are actively collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses.
