He highlighted that the US has "rediscovered Greece," spurred by the dynamic revival of its market, which is attracting significant investments from American companies.
Tsunis remarked on Greece's economic transformation, expressing his pride in promoting US-Greece relations. "Our cooperation is developing at all levels, in all sectors. It is at the best level it has ever been, benefiting both the US and Greece," he stated. He attributed Greece's appeal not only to its food and climate but also to its exceptional workforce.
Comparing economic metrics, Tsunis noted that while both nations are experiencing record successes, Greece's 2.7% primary surplus stands out. He credited Greece's economic achievements to the hard work of its government and people, congratulating them on their efforts.
Addressing regional stability, Tsunis pointed out Greece's strategic position amid surrounding instability. He referenced challenges faced by emerging democracies to the north and threats from countries attempting to alter sovereignty by force. "In a region desperately seeking stability, Greece is a crucial partner because it operates on principles and values, appreciated by all," he said. This reliability has earned Greece Washington's respect.
Tsunis also voiced his support for the integration of migrants in Europe and the US, calling for unity and a vision of hope, opportunity, kindness, and inclusion.
