Mood: You are the Best Greek in Pole Vault History

In an exhilarating pole vault competition at the Irena Szewinska Memorial in Bydgoszcz, Poland, Emmanouil Karalis of Greece made headlines with a historic performance.

The 23-year-old athlete soared to new heights, clearing a personal best and setting a new Greek national record of 5.92 metres. This impressive achievement earner him second place behind world silver medalist EJ Obiena of the Philippines.

Karalis' remarkable feat broke the previous Greek record of 5.91 meters, held by Costas Filippidis since 2015. His achievement was celebrated across social media, where Karalis, known as "Manolo," posted a photo taken right after his record-breaking jump, captioning it, "Mood: You are the Best Greek in Pole Vault History."

In a video post showcasing his record-breaking jump, Karalis shared his excitement with followers, writing, "5.92 Greek pole vault record at the Irena Szewinska Memorial. 6m up next?" His fans were equally enthusiastic, with one commenting, "6m is on the way and he knows it," and another praising him as an "amazing athlete."

Karalis has been a prominent figure in the athletics world since his early successes, including a fourth-place finish at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021. Born in Athens on October 20, 1999, to a Greek father and a Ugandan mother, Karalis has shown exceptional talent and determination throughout his career.

One of the most touching moments in Karalis' journey was his tribute to his parents during the Tokyo Olympic Games. After an incredible performance that saw him finishing fourth, Karalis wrote a heartfelt message on the back of his bib: "Thank you Mom + Dad." This simple yet powerful gesture moved many spectators and highlighted the deep gratitude he feels towards his family, who have been his biggest support throughout his career.

In addition to his pole vaulting achievements, Karalis is also an entrepreneur. He launched his own clothing line, FlyManoloFly (FMF), which embodies his philosophy of constant progression and the desire to "fly" beyond expectations. The brand features premium streetwear made in Greece, reflecting Karalis' passion for style and creativity.

Karalis' journey in athletics has been marked by perseverance, overcoming injuries and challenges to reach new milestones. His dedication and positive energy have inspired fans worldwide, making him not only a celebrated athlete but also a role model for many.

As Karalis continues to push the boundaries of his sport, his message remains clear: never stop reaching for new heights. With his eyes set on the 6-meter mark, the world watches in anticipation of his next remarkable achievement.
