The great Greek actress plays a... dead person who returns.

The Norwegian horror-mystery film Handling the Undead, which has received two awards and features the Greek actress Olga Damani as one of the protagonists, premiered in the United States and Canada at the beginning of June.

Thea Hvistendahl's film is based on the horror novel of the same name by Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist and unfolds in Oslo, where families and partners mourn the loss of their loved ones.

Suddenly, the dead return and chaos ensues. Who are the awakened ones, and what exactly do they want?

The great Greek theatre, film and television actress plays Elisabet, who returns a few days after she dies at the house where she lived with her partner.

None of the dead speak, but the expressiveness of the actress is enough to convey the tone and offering a memorable performance.

Handling the Undead currently holds a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 69 critics, but many of those who watched it commented on film-related platforms that it's not that scary and is more of a drama.

The film screened at the Sundance Film Festival in January, where Peter Raeburn won the Original Score Award and creator Thea Hvistendahl was nominated for the Jury Prize in the World Cinema - Dramatic category.

Hvistendahl won for Handling the Undead, the best director award at the Riviera International Film Festival.
