Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis received Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Wednesday, concluding his official visit to Greece focused on bilateral relations and efforts to address Israeli aggression in Gaza.
During their meeting, Safadi and Mitsotakis explored avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation across various sectors within the framework of trilateral collaborations involving Cyprus and the European Union. They also discussed ensuring consistent and sustainable humanitarian aid distribution throughout Gaza, as per a statement from the Foreign Ministry.
The Greek Prime Minister and Safadi also deliberated strategies to prevent the escalation of conflict into Lebanon and the West Bank, advocating for robust international efforts to resolve the crisis through a two-state solution aligned with international legitimacy resolutions.
Safadi conveyed King Abdullah II's regards to Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, affirming the King's commitment to strengthening the partnership between Jordan and Greece. Mitsotakis reciprocated by expressing his appreciation for King Abdullah's role in advancing peace, security, and stability in the region, underscoring the significance of bilateral relations with Jordan.
Earlier in the day, Safadi met with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis to further discuss bilateral ties, including joint efforts to address the humanitarian crisis stemming from Israeli actions in Gaza. Safadi emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation and the trilateral mechanism involving Jordan, Greece, and Cyprus, noting the shared regional concerns affecting both nations.
