Tsanis was returning home from a graduation ceremony with a friend in the early hours of the morning when they were confronted by a group of approximately ten individuals. According to the victim's father, who spoke to MEGA news, the confrontation escalated rapidly, with the attackers singling out Tsanis despite pleas from the young men to be left alone.
"They beat him to death," the grieving father shared with reporters, "all 10 people were kicking him in the head."
Witnesses recount a horrifying scene where even after Tsanis lost consciousness, one assailant continued to brutally strike his head and body. Rushed to the hospital with severe head injuries, Tsanis was placed on life support but tragically succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

"The most disturbing aspect is that they recorded the attack and are boasting about it," a relative stated, adding that this incident mirrors other disturbing occurrences in the area targeting individuals perceived as Christian, including the deaths of a 26-year-old man and a policeman.
According to reports from BILD and Focus, the primary suspect in custody is an 18-year-old Syrian national residing in an asylum home in Bad Oeynhausen. He is known to local authorities for previous property offenses. The public prosecutor's office in Bielefeld is currently investigating the case as manslaughter in conjunction with grievous bodily harm.
A police report obtained by WELT provides a chilling reconstruction of the attack. After leaving the graduation party, Tsanis and his two companions encountered the group of youths. While the initial cause of the "dispute" remains unclear, the main suspect allegedly attacked Tsanis, causing him to fall backward and sustain fatal head injuries upon impact.
The suspect's companions reportedly attempted to intervene but were unsuccessful. The attacker only ceased his violent assault after numerous blows, subsequently turning on Tsanis' 19-year-old friend who sustained minor injuries.
Tsanis' father, Dimitris Tsanis, shared his grief with BILD, stating, "He just wanted to enjoy the graduation party with his sister and friends. His life was just beginning. The violence has to stop. This could happen to anyone's child, and no parent should endure such a devastating loss."
As the investigation continues, police are urging anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly seeking to identify the remaining individuals present during the attack, described as "males of Southern European descent, approximately 19-20 years old, some wearing Adidas tracksuits."
