A fire alarm was raised on Tuesday afternoon for a large fire in Glyka Nera, at the foot of Mount Hymettus.
According to the Fire Service, the fire is burning above the Glyka Nera stadium and the forces that have been thrown into the battle with the flames are constantly being reinforced.
Specifically, 100 firefighters and 6 pedestrian units with 25 vehicles are operating at the fire front, while 9 aircraft and 7 helicopters are carrying out continuous water drops from the air. Volunteer firefighters are also participating in the firefighting efforts.
