This initiative aims to upgrade the quality of public education and enhance inclusive education across the country.
Specifically, 4,451 appointments will address vacancies left by the departure of permanent teachers, adhering to the fiscal rule of one recruitment per departure. Following the 2023-2024 school year, 4,050 permanent teachers and special educational staff members departed, with an additional 401 vacancies arising from the 2022-2023 school year.
In addition to these replacements, the Ministry has planned 5,549 new teaching positions. The total cost of this recruitment drive, amounting to 110 million euros, will be covered exclusively by national resources previously allocated for hiring substitute teachers.
