The 28th annual Youth Parliament concluded last week with a vibrant session at the Hellenic Parliament, where high school students from Greece, Cyprus, and the diaspora gathered to discuss democracy and societal issues.
Hosted by the Parliament, the event provided 10th and 11th-grade students a platform to articulate their concerns and ideas for improving Greek society and its future. Students engaged in frank discussions, holding government officials, local agencies, and themselves accountable.
During the session, six student representatives delivered speeches on themes including city life, education, politics, environment, culture, and the digital world. Teams collaborated beforehand to craft proposals and recommendations, each speaker allotted five minutes to present their group’s perspectives.
The Youth Parliament not only encouraged civic engagement but also fostered dialogue on pressing issues affecting young people today, marking a pivotal moment in youth advocacy within Greece and beyond.
