Athens, Greece—The Hellenic Land Cadastre, Greece's land registry agency, is leaping into the digital age by launching a pilot program that will use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to expedite land transactions.
This initiative, starting on Thursday, places the Land Cadastre at the forefront of Greek public services utilizing AI technology. The AI tool will be able to analyze land contracts in natural language, automatically recognize relevant regulations, and drastically reduce processing times.
Furthermore, the Land Cadastre is actively digitizing its archives. Lawyers can now access property deed archives online, eliminating the need for physical visits to offices in Athens, Thessaloniki, Piraeus, and 30 other locations.
This digital transformation promises numerous advantages:
- Faster transaction processing through AI analysis.
- Increased efficiency with online access to property records.
- Reduced costs and time saved for both citizens and lawyers.
- Improved transparency and potential reduction in bribery due to digital transactions.
Authorities urge citizens to report any encounters with bribery or corruption, even anonymously.
