The Acropolis will be closed to visitors between noon and 5:00 pm today, Wednesday, July 17th, due to the scorching temperatures forecast for Athens.

The Ministry of Culture made the announcement as part of a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of visitors during the heatwave. The scorching temperatures can pose health risks, and the closure aims to mitigate those risks for those planning to visit the historic landmark.

While access to the Acropolis will be restricted during the afternoon hours, other archaeological sites within Athens are expected to remain open with regular operating hours.
