Dimitrios Kalamaras, the flamboyant owner of DK Oyster in Mykonos, has gained notoriety for his extravagant lifestyle and exorbitant restaurant prices.
Kalamaras, whose initials name the beachside restaurant, is known for charging sky-high prices to unsuspecting tourists, recently making headlines for a €121 bill for three crab legs.
DK Oyster, established in 2016 and part of Kalamaras’s family business, has been accused of scamming customers, leading to public outcry on social media and negative reviews on TripAdvisor. Despite the backlash, Kalamaras proudly displays his luxurious lifestyle on Instagram, with posts featuring yachts, exotic locations, and high-end dining.
Kalamaras’s controversial practices have sparked outrage among tourists, with TripAdvisor issuing a warning about the restaurant. The owner, however, remains unapologetic, claiming that complaints often stem from customers not checking the menu prices thoroughly. As the debate continues, DK Oyster has discreetly removed signage, yet its reputation for steep bills remains unchanged.
