Who is Princess Sheikha Mahra from Dubai who divorced via Instagram? A Greek mother and the honeymoon to Mykonos

Zoe Grigorakos, originally from Sparta, is the mother of the 30-year-old princess.

Princess Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed Al Maktoum has Greek roots and became the subject of international media for the way she divorced her businessman husband, leaving insinuations that he cheated on her.

Using Shariah law, the 30-year-old princess announced her divorce via Instagram by writing three times "I divorce you, I divorce you, I divorce you."

Sheikha Mahra's mother is Zoe Grigorakos, originally from Sparta, who was married to the current Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, with whom she is now divorced.

The 30-year-old princess has posted several photos of her mother on her Instagram account and announced the divorce.

It is recalled when the Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai was painted in Greek colours for Greek Independence Day on March 25, the 30-year-old princess posted a photo of the iconic building with a blue heart emoji next to it.

The couple had chosen Greece to spend their honeymoon after their wedding in May 2023.

Sheikha Mahra and her businessman husband, Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, enjoyed Mykonos, by among other things, hiring jet skis.

Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum had even posted a photo of a beach on the "Island of the Winds."

The couple had originally signed a contract under Islamic law ahead of the wedding, which took place in late May 2023. The 30-year-old princess chose a wedding dress by Ezra Couture.

Although their marriage was sealed with the arrival of a child in May this year, it seems that something was not right in their relationship, with the princess announcing her divorce on Instagram.

"Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I Divorce You. Take care," she wrote on her social media account.

Sheikh Mohammed is one of the largest property owners in the United Kingdom. According to the Guardian, he owns more than 400,000 acres of land in London, Scotland, and Suffolk.
