Greek Satisfaction with Personal Relationships Among Lowest in EU

In 2022, EU citizens reported high levels of satisfaction with their personal relationships, averaging 7.8 out of 10. This represents a slight dip from the 7.9 average in 2018.

These findings coincide with the International Day of Friendship on July 30th.

Malta, Austria, and Slovenia led the EU with the highest satisfaction rates, all scoring 8.6. In contrast, Greece, along with Bulgaria and Croatia, reported some of the lowest satisfaction rates. Greece’s average satisfaction rating stood at 7.3, just above Croatia’s 7.2 and Bulgaria’s 6.0.

Women in the EU generally felt slightly more satisfied with their personal relationships than men, scoring 7.9 compared to 7.8. Young adults aged 16-24 were the most content, with an 8.1 rating, while those aged 50-64 reported the lowest satisfaction at 7.7.

Households with dependent children showed the highest satisfaction levels at 7.7, followed by two-adult households at 7.6. Single-adult households were the least satisfied, with a rating of 7.4.
